Ebook {Epub PDF} Psycho Beach Party by Charles Busch

This film was adapted from a popular off-Broadway play written by Charles Busch. "Psycho Beach Party" is a manic party-mix of 50's psychological thrillers, 60's beach movies, and 70's slasher films. The story focuses on Chicklet Forrest (Lauren Ambrose), a sixteen-year old tomboy who's desperate to be part of the in-crowd of Malibu beach surfers. She's the typical American girl - except for one little problem: her .  · "Gidget”, Frankie and Annette beach party epics. and Hitchcock psychological suspense thrillers such as “Spellbound” and “Marnie” are given a shotgun marriag. Charles Busch takes the world of Gidget and Beach Blanket Bingo and paints it neon in this screwy, sexy and schizophrenic romp through the sand. There are hot guys, sexy chicks, a runaway movie star, and many seaside trysts and turns. Only one person is out to ruin the fun – she’s got world domination on her mind and a razor in her hand.

The legendary playwright and drag performer Charles Busch ("Psycho Beach Party," "Die, Mommie, Die!") forged his own path with the off-Broadway Theatre-in-Limbo company and, after creating those comedy mainstays, didn't rest on that success. That's a longwinded way of saying he's back and ready for the big screen again with "The Sixth Reel." Co-written and [ ]. PSYCHO BEACH PARTY. Based on Charles Busch's hilarious long-running stage play, PSYCHO BEACH PARTY is a wickedly fun satire of Hollywood movie genres. Psycho Beach Party premiered on J at The Players Theatre, New York City. It was directed by Kenneth Elliott and presented by Theater-in-Limbo, Kenneth Elliott, and Gerald A. Davis. Charles Busch is the author and star of such plays as The Divine Sister, The Lady in Question, Red Scare on Sunset.

First, I've seen almost every 60's Beach Party movie (though I'm sure Charles Busch has most people beat on the number of times they were watched) and this is not only a hilarious parody, but the 60's detail down to the costumes, sets, make-up, and hair is so dead-on I wouldn't have been surprised to see Donna Loren or Deborah Walley show up. "Gidget”, Frankie and Annette beach party epics. and Hitchcock psychological suspense thrillers such as “Spellbound” and “Marnie” are given a shotgun marriag. Psycho Beach Party is a comedy horror film based on the off-Broadway play of the same name, directed by Robert Lee King. Charles Busch wrote both the original play and the screenplay. As the title suggests, Psycho Beach Party, set in Malibu Beach, is a parody of s psychodramas, s beach movies and s slasher films.
